# Studio TOOJ

> Studio TOOJ is a Stockholm-based design studio founded in 2023 by Ash Wilén-Jong (born 1985 in Hong Kong) and Johan Wilén-Jong (born 1983 in Sweden). The studio creates sculptural furniture, objects, made-to-order collections and material-led collaborations through an exchange between narrative thinking, traditional craftsmanship and experimental production.

Studio TOOJ explores how familiar objects can acquire an unexpected physical presence: solid surfaces appear to drape, structural elements seem to float, and construction details become defining visual gestures. The practice works with materials including wood, natural stone, upholstery, cast recycled glass, 3D-printed quartz sand and Reishi™, a mycelium-based biomaterial developed by MycoWorks.

Ash and Johan also work together as Wilén-Jong, their gallery-represented artistic practice encompassing functional art, one-of-a-kind works and limited series. Studio TOOJ and Wilén-Jong share the same founders and material curiosity but operate in different contexts. Wilén-Jong uses furniture and objects as a narrative medium to explore subjects including burnout, human relationships with the natural world and the psychological meanings carried by materials.

Ash and Johan Wilén-Jong were named Designer of the Year 2026 by ELLE Decoration Sweden. Their work is held in private collections, and the Burnout series was selected for New Glass Review 2026 by The Corning Museum of Glass. Wilén-Jong is represented by Wexler Gallery in the United States and Bonham in Australia and New Zealand.

## Commissions and contact

Studio TOOJ welcomes enquiries about made-to-order pieces, bespoke adaptations, interior projects, exhibitions and creative collaborations. Selected designs may be adapted in dimensions, materials or finishes while retaining the integrity of the original work. Production is coordinated with specialist craftspeople and manufacturing partners in Europe and the United States.
