We Are Not the Custodians of Earth is a ceramic series by Wilén-Jong that questions humanity’s assumed position as guardian and owner of the natural world. Through sculptural objects, vessels and hand-drawn imagery, the works imagine nature not as something dependent on human stewardship, but as a force that exists beyond us. The series reflects on post-humanism, environmental responsibility and the fragile place humanity occupies within a much larger living system.
